My name is Aster, and the past eight years of my life were not kind to me. I had very little human interaction, so my foster mom is showing me it is okay to trust humans. I have come a long way in just the few months I have been at my foster mom’s house, but I am still very shy when it comes to all people.
I have started putting my paws on mom’s bed in the morning to see if she is ready to get up to feed me. I get really, really excited at breakfast and dinner time! I come into the living room and wiggle that little numb of mine to let mom know I how happy I am about getting some grub.
The outdoors are my favorite – I come alive when I go out in the backyard! Unfortunately, right now due to my heartworm treatment, mom can’t let me play. Growing up, I never got the chance to play with toys, but I have found a squeaky toy that I love to chew on.
In my foster home, I live with other dogs and cats. I don’t mind cats at all! I have not tried to play with any of the other dogs, except for my friend, Glory, who came from the same place I did. I think if my new home has another playful dog, then I would be willing to play, I just need some time to warm up. A doggie sibling would probably even help me get past my shyness towards people!
I am spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and finishing up my heartworm treatment. Please consider making me a part of your furever home!
Aster is currently fostered in Wilmington, NC, and her adoption fee is $225.
