Hi my name is Bolt! I am a handsome 9 month old excitable young man who is learning how to live indoors after spending most of my puppyhood in a pen. I am a very sweet dog who enjoys throwing my toys in the air and thrashing them from side to side – sometimes even whacking my foster brothers and sisters. I like them – I think I would like some of my own! But they have to know how to PLAY! That’s what I do best, you know.
I am learning how to properly behave in my crate, and I do need to be treated like a young puppy when it comes to housebreaking. But as long as you stay on top of me and take me out I am more than happy to go where I’m supposed to! I sleep in my crate at night and hang out there when no one is watching me (my favorite pastime is chewing my water buffalo horn.) Otherwise I certainly can be mischievous (they are always telling me “don’t eat things off the floor!” and “don’t put that in your mouth!” pfft!) My new parents do need to stay on top of that. And me. However that crate thing is kinda nice, sometimes I sneak off to sleep in there by myself.
I walk pretty nicely on a leash, but I do get very excited when I see potential friends! Did I mention how much I love friends? Really. I am also learning to not bolt out the door like a Rhino and to sit in order to get out of my crate and eat my food. I mean – I just want to have fun, can’t you see?! They’re on a “mission to civilize” is what my foster parents keep saying. How boring.
In all seriousness I would love a family who could dedicate some time to me and help me grow into a handsome Auss-ome adult I know I can be! I may be a bit excitable for small children, but I would love to have some older 2-leggers to run around and play with toys with. If you have some more of my kind, that would be Auss-ome too!
Love & licks,
Bolt is fostered in Cary, North Carolina and his adoption fee is $275.
