Camden is a 9 month old, moderate energy, red merle, male Australian Sheperd with a tail and is approximately 40lbs.
Camden is beautiful, loving, Velcro and smart.
He cherishes the company of people and loves the company of dogs. He is not overly clingy and while he loves his people, he is also curious and independent. He especially enjoys racing around with his foster sister in the backyard. His energy level is medium – he will run when given the chance but does not pester his foster mom to stay entertained. He is working on leash manners, but loves having a fenced yard to stretch those legs of his! Camden is very athletic and would likely be a great running partner or agility or dog sport candidate.
Camden would do best in a situation where he is not left alone 8 hours a day, every day -being left out his curiously will get him into trouble for sure and he is still not fond of his crate – he truly craves human love and companionship. He loves spending the evening on the rug, chewing on his rope toy, while his foster mama watches TV.
Camden currently lives with one other dog and one cat. He is fine with a cat who is dog savvy. He will chase her when she runs but when she stops and swats at him he runs away. As far as dogs go, Camden seems to love everyone. He plays chase and wrestles with equal enthusiasm. He meets people very well also – all wagging tail and lots of kisses.
Camden is learning basic commands, but will need someone who is devoted to training to get his manners to 100%. He is tempted by low laying and unattended people food but is very responsive when told no and will go lay down. He is still working on his house training – his “I gotta go” warning, at present, leaves a small window for response before there is an accident. Like most puppies, he is fond of shoes (and other interesting items left on the floor) but is easily corrected when he’s found himself possession of contraband and will very happily drop and trade for a puppy-appropriate toy.
Camden is simply sweet and loving, highly trainable and absolutely gorgeous. He would make a great addition to a family or a single person.
