Petite, velcro, and very snuggly!
This is Cera, a two year old purebred blue merle Aussie girl with a docked tail. Cera has had a rough start, and needs a very special home.
Cera’s owner died, and she was given to a family member to be cared for. However, Cera didn’t know how to interact with farm animals, and attacked her new caregiver’s chickens, and so she found herself left at the local animal control facility. Cera was very, very scared. However, we got Cera into foster care and she quickly bonded with her caretaker. Changing homes is a very stressful ordeal for Cera, and she gets very scared when there are lots of strange people trying to handle her.
Cera needs a stable, Aussie-savvy home with no children. She is good with other dogs and cats, knows how to sit and load into a crate, walks okay on leash, and has good recall with people she knows. Cera will need an adopter dedicated to continuing her socialization and training beyond foster care.
This girl is still young and loves to play and run in the yard. She is VERY velcro, and needs to learn how to give people space or she will be in your lap constantly. She also has a bad habit of nipping fingers when she wants attention, which is something her adopters need to be aware of. We’re working on that in foster care, however it will likely take continued training.
Cera is housebroken, and will be available once she is spayed and vaccinated.
Cera is currently being fostered in Columbia, SC.
