Hi I’m Hawthorn! I’ve been through a lot more than most dogs but I am quickly learning what it’s like to be a “real dog”!
When I first entered foster care I didn’t know my name, any commands, or my manners. All of my foster parents have been so kind to teach me everything I know. I now know my name, how to sit, when to come when called, the meaning of no, and I’m learning my leash manners.
I love to play! I would love a new sibling to play with or an active parent to expel my energy! I would prefer my new sibling(s) to respect my space for a few days but I guarantee I will warm up in no time! Foster mom says I’m a great running and hiking partner and I love to adventure. I love car rides – what’s better than feeling the wind in your ear fluff??
If you haven’t read my entire story, go check it out! I didn’t have the easiest start to life, but I know my furever home is out there waiting to give me the life I deserve!
Hawthorn is a high energy, 2-3 year old Aussie boy who would do best in an active, experienced home committed to continuing the training and socialization started in his foster home. He is your typical young Aussie who did not receive much direction prior to rescue and will need consistent, firm training. This big teddy bear will gladly use those puppy dog eyes to get what he wants!
*He is NOT suitable for a home with children or cats*
Hawthorn is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. He is currently fostered in Woodbridge, VA
