Meet Indy!  She’s a 10 week old double merle Australian Shepherd puppy.  Indy is completely deaf but does that stop her? No and no. Indy might have some minimal vision impairment – possibly some issues seeing in low light, but for the most part she sees very well. She follows her big foster sissy around everywhere and she is always under foot. She is a speedy little thing and tries to out run the big dogs all day long.

Indy is super affectionate and loves to cuddle. She also has energy to burn and loves to play with toys, tug, and a good chew session is never not on her to-do list.  She is fierce and wide open. She isn’t afraid of anyone or anything. Wrestle with a 100 pound dog? Check! Meet a new person? Let’s do this!  New place? Let’s explore!

Indy would do well with a family that has another dog for her to play with. She loves her big foster sissy and they spend a lot of time playing with each other and chasing one another around the yard and house.  She will also need a home where she can burn off energy – not just physically but mentally. She will need to have obedience training and could even excel in some type of dog sport. She basically needs the same thing any other Aussie needs, both physical and mental exercise.

Indy is learning puppy manners and has started to learn how to sit using hand signals. Potty training is coming along but a little slowly. She is learning to love her crate as well. A regular routine and crate training will be important for this sweet girl to continue to be the best dog she can be. She’s super smart and wants to learn and please her people.

Indy is currently being fostered in Salisbury, NC.
