Do you love outdoor activities, but enjoy a good snuggle at night? Are you looking for a sport dog with a nice on/off switch? Well, have we got the girl for you.
Meet Joule, a smooth coated female collie-type-mix puppy (we see both border collie and smooth collie, but it’s still just a guess). Joule is five months old (as of March 2019), and she’s been quite the overachiever in her short time on Earth.
Thanks to her amazing foster mom, Joule is an AKC S.T.A.R. puppy currently enrolled in advanced puppy confidence, canine nosework and pre-agility classes. She has excelled at everything she has been asked to do. Joule has amazing handler focus; and a HUGE sassy personality. Joule would make an excellent prospect for agility, obedience or canine nosework, perhaps even herding with work. She may be all about ‘her job’, but she has a sensitive, snuggly side too. Joule’s favorite after dinner activity is snuggling with her person on the couch.
Joule currently weighs around 32 pounds, and we don’t expect her to be larger than 40-45 pounds when she’s fully grown. She’s got a soft, smooth tricolor coat, and her silly ears have minds of their own when it comes to standing up or not.
Due to Joule’s talkative-energetic nature, we recommend an active non-apartment home without small children. Her foster mom would prefer she go to a home with another canine, as Joule is very close with her foster siblings. Joule is currently crated during the day, but has proven trustworthy to sleep in the bedroom at night, sans crate. Joule also crates quietly in the car and during her classes.
Joule loves other dogs (she is currently fostered with four resident pups). She has been fostered with a big kitty cat and has shown interest in playing with him. She is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines and microchipped, and she will require a spay deposit and agreement in her adoption contract. Joule is fostered in Durham, NC, and her adoption fee is $350 with an additional $200 spay/training deposit.
