Playful, sweet, spitfire. Meet Kahlua.
She would love to meet you, as she is a fan of being with her people and getting a ton of butt scritches.
Kahlua is a 7 month old Australian Shepherd. She weighs 42 pounds and has a full flamboyant tail that she never stops wagging.
She is extremely energetic and ready to go go go! She would excel at agility, flyball, frisbee, running, jumping, anything that involves moving her body and spending time with her people.
She gets along with her foster siblings, though the smaller the dog (or cat) the more inclined she is to give chase. Because she’s over 40 pounds and also a little goofy, smaller animals might not appreciate her exuberance. And Kahlua just can’t understand why they don’t want to be friends because all she wants to do is play play play!
Kahlua came into foster care after not having a lot of structure. She craves structure though. She is learning her basic obedience and will need a family that is committed to continue her training. She should get enrolled, at minimum, in a basic obedience class.
Kahlua is house broken and will go into her crate. She’ll whine for a few minutes and then settle down.
Kahlua will need a family that will work with her, because she is super smart and left to her own smarty-pants devices, she could easily get into trouble and she doesn’t want that. She wants to please her people and listen to them. A family that is knowledgable in the breed and patient when it comes to overzealous large puppies is preferable.
Kahlua is up to date on vaccines, spayed and micro-chipped.
Kahlua is being fostered in Salisbury, NC.
