Mako

Mako

Mako is all bark and no bite! This little deaf cattle dog puppy is a “talker” – he loves telling people how he feels! The only thing Mako loves more than talking is cuddling, which he is excellent at.

Mako is a five month old Australian Cattle Dog mix puppy. He was dumped by his “breeder” at a shelter because he’s deaf. Don’t tell Mako he’s different, though! He won’t believe you. This little man is a fun loving boogar. He romps with his foster siblings, wrestles with the cat, swims in the kiddie pool, you name it!

Owning a deaf dog is so much fun – not only do you get to challenge yourself with teaching a puppy hand signals, but you don’t have to tiptoe around the house in the morning or when you wake up for a midnight snack. They aren’t bothered by storms, trains, fireworks, or guns! Mako is such a smart boy, he is great in his crate, and has even started working on his leash training. He still gets a bit of puppy stubbornness occasionally, but don’t we all? He rides great in a car and loves going on adventures.

Because of Mako’s deafness, he will require a fenced yard. Mako would love an older sibling or two to show him the ropes and play with him.

Mako is currently fostered in Columbia, SC.
