Name: Pepe
Age: 2 years
Breed: Aussie/Border Collie
Gender: male
Weight: 30 lbs

Pepé is a 2 year old, 30 pound, male Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix with a big, sweet heart and gorgeous fluffy tail. Although nervous at first, he quickly warmed up to his foster parents and feline/canine siblings. Pepé is polite to cats, except for a few extra curious moments when he considered giving chase, so future cat siblings should be dog savvy. He absolutely adores his dog foster brother and they spend all day wrestling and playing tug.

Pepé is wonderful on leash, has good recall and can sit, lie down and sit pretty on command. He is extremely smart and has quickly picked up commands and behaviors from his foster brother. He is food and praise motivated. He’s met kids and seemed to fill with joy at being able to cover them with puppy kisses. He forms strong bonds with the people that are his family.

Pepé can be nervous about being crated/being left alone and would do best in a household with other dogs to be around. He does not guard toys/treats but has guarded his bowl of kibble from other pets walking past. His foster mom, however, can touch him, the kibble or the bowl while he’s eating. He has been slightly reactive (just barking) when meeting other dogs on leash but will quickly quiet down. Pepé is highly energetic when playing but equally as happy to just lie down next to his person inside the house.

Pepé is housetrained and currently fostered in Charlottesville, VA. He is neutered, UTD on vaccines, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $250.
