Phasma – Adoption Pending!
Age: 10 wks (June 6th)
Breed: Aussie Mix
Captain Phasma has entered the star destroyer, folks – watch out! This girl has a huge personality wrapped up in a tiny package. She is smart, friendly, playful, and people-focused – yep, the whole shebang!
Phasma is a 10ish week old Aussie (maybe border collie?) mix puppy rescued from a shelter in SC with her siblings. She currently weighs around 12 pounds, and we don’t expect her to be larger than 40 pounds, give or take a little. Phasma is a great girl and has quickly taken to her obedience training. She has a wonderful default “sit,” crates for her meals, and she’s progressing quickly with house training. She’s also been introduced to leash walking and even some puppy agility equipment!
At this stage, we would consider Phasma to be medium-high energy – she’s not lazy or couch potato material, but she’s not off the charts either. She loves toys and foster mom works on encouraging her tug and retrieve drive during play sessions. Phasma is very food motivated and handler-focused, and she has great eye contact during training! Foster mom thinks she would make a very nice “starter dog” for someone interested in getting into agility or rally.
Phasma enjoys playing with other dogs, but she’s also independent and enjoys just being with her people, too. She would be fine with children and cats, provided that a busy family can give her the training and exercise she needs to prevent unwanted herding behaviors from evolving.
Phasma will be ready to go in mid-June, after she’s received her second round of puppy vaccines. She will also be microchipped and dewormed, and current on heartworm and flea preventatives. Phasma is fostered in Durham, NC, and her adoption fee is $350.
In addition to the adoption fee there is a $200 spay and training deposit that will be refunded upon proof of completion by 6 months of age. Please visit our website for more information on this deposit.
