You find love when you aren’t looking and the same can be said for Silas. At 10 years old, Silas has had a rough start but is a testament to genuine goodness. When you really look at him you know he understands vulnerability and his willingness to trust resonates at your core. He isn’t just a dog he’s a forever kind of love. People say the word dog, but that eclipses the real meaning which is someone inspiring us to better. At least for a little while. Silas weighs only 45 lbs. so leaves a small footprint while making a big impact.

Silas has a goofy side that celebrates being in a happy home. Silas likes to pop his head in the kitchen or maybe the bathroom to check on his people. He loves the good life of lounging on the couch or taking long naps. Silas especially enjoys zoomies and extra-long walks with his foster brother. Silas is still learning the rules of potty-training, but is doing very well with consistent scheduling. He puts himself to bed in his crate, but would love most of all to sleep with his family on a bed. Silas would do best with a younger dog playmate to help orient with his new family and is fine with cats. He does well with dog-savvy children.

Silas requires patience and love as a practice, one requiring intentionality and constant growth as he tests boundaries in his new environment. Once you have earned Silas’s trust he will reciprocate with small measures that are major victories. He may be older, but Silas still has time to make plenty of memories. He is the part of your family you never knew was missing.

Silas is available now and excited to meet his forever family.

Silas is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. He is currently fostered in Asheville, NC and his adoption fee is $150.
